Hi from Wyoming!
Hi everyone! I'm Kristi, I'm new 'round here! My family of 5 and I just moved to Wyoming from Indianapolis, and the cost of living has gone up, well, a bit. It's a half hour drive to the nearest discount store, and even the super discount stores seem way more expensive! DH and I want to add to our family in the next year, and we *might* have to pay for it out of pocket. Plus, my genius brother decided to get married in Jamica, and we're *all* to stand up with him and his fiancee, and taking a family of 5 on a week-long cruise ain't cheap! Did I mention we homeschool?? So there's curriculum and supplies... I need to get everything down to the bare bones just to afford it all!! We're also hoping to buy a home next year, but, in our perfect world, DH's VA loan takes care of the down payment...
Right now we live in a trailer park, so a large garden isn't an option, although I'm hoping to start a small one in the spring. But, our growing season isn't exactly long here, so I'm **really** praying for the kindness of other people who will have more than they need. But, this winter, our goal is to get some savings going, and get everything else caught up. DH might be joining the National Guard, and if he does, he'll get a bonus, which will help. If not, though, I've gotta tighten our belts! So I'm really looking forward to everyone's wisdom and experiences!
Kristi

Congrats! I myself signed up 3 years ago but after a hearty feast on the site, had to slow down. It was fun for awhile but I have only dial-up plus aol so getting from page to page takes forever. I had to calm the obcession and spend more time on little things like housework. Now I have an insomnia problem so I go on in the wee hours of the night/morning when most everyone else on the site is in bed or getting up.
