Newbie101 - How to Post

First, there are some buttons You just need to know:

You will see

at the center top left corner. If you click on the button .) You will then Create a New Thread.

A New Thread means You want to start a new conversation.

So Go into Introductions -> Click on link -

now and find the

button, Click on it, and Say Hello and tell us something about yourself.

Now, if you find a post that you'd like to comment on or add your .02 into, That is called a REPLY

There are 4 ways to Reply.

1. One is at the top of the Thread ( Where you found New Thread) at the top Left hand corner. It will look like this

and it will open up the same kind of screen as CREATE A TOPIC, with the smiles on the side.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the post/topic you wish to respond to and you will see

. Click on this button if you want to include Part of the message in your reply.

3. You will also see the following button:

, click on this button if you wish to include several different quotes in your reply.

4. You will also see

you will see "THE QUICK REPLY", Which is a empty box, you can type into.

To Practice this Follow the following text, Visit GAS Hog Alerts and share your city/state and current Gas price in your area by hitting the reply.

Important Button Alert! In the Bottom right hand corner of each post, you'll see

This is also very helpful in our Freebies & Coupons forums, as it lets someone know you appreciate the post without Bumping it up. I understand your excitement filling out for all of those great freebies, but we ask that you only comment on a coupon or freebie post if you have additional information to add.

Last but not least,

SMILIES!

The smilies are located in the right hand side box when you hit a reply button. Currently we have more than 290 Smilies to choose from. You will see only 10 in the box, if you'd like to see more, click on the MORE link located underneath those 10 smilies.

If you use Quick reply the box at the bottom of every topic you won't see them unless you click on "Advanced Settings" in the quick reply box.

HI liss,
i read your how to post but then i thought i had posted something but then i didn't. and then i changed the title to post another thread and hit the return key and it posted it or it's under review when i just wanted to know if there was another thread already set up. Because initially when i typed in my title, it pulled out other threads that had a similar title.
Maybe i'm just a slow learner.

Please see levels of registration. It explains that all new members are moderated for a brief period of time. This helps prevent spam on the boards and allows us to answer any questions that pop up regarding how to properly use all of the features on the site.
