Default Easy Cheap Taco Chili

This is one of my husband's favorites on a cold night.
It's easy, cheap and only uses one pot!

1 lb ground beef (optional)
1 large onion (diced)
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 pkg. dry ranch dressing mix
1 large can tomatoes (I like the petite diced)
1 regular can diced tomatoes
1 can Rotel (generic diced tomatoes with peppers just as good)
1 can corn
1 can chili beans
1 can red beans
1 can black beans

In a stock pot - If using meat brown it with the onions and the two packages of seasoning (do not add water).
If not using meat cook onions with the seasonings.
With out draining any of them add all of the cans to the pot.
Simmer for an hour or more and your done!
It makes enough for 6-8 servings depending on your serving size.

I like to top each bowl with a little cheese and a dab of sour cream.
My hubbie likes to crumble corn chips in his.

Thanks for this recipe;sounds really good, but what are chili beans? Are these the beans that have chili added to them in the can or are they canned navy beans?I am from Canada, so don't know if these are available here.

Thumbs up Re: Easy Cheap Taco Chili

I pretty sure the chili beans I get are just kidney beans canned with some sort of seasoning sauce. You could substitute a can of kidney or red beans.
You really can't mess up this recipe.
I think you could probably dump a can of just about anything in there and it would still be yummy!

This sounds a lot like my 9 can taco soup except it has meat in it and my family loves it. Beating they'll love this also! Thanks!
