Heart Navy Bean Soup

I found this recipe about two years.
And I make it alot in the winter.
Very healthy too---Enjoy


Recipe: Navy Bean Soup

Servings: 8
Preparation Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 180 min.

Ingredients:
1 Lbs. dried Great Northern or navy beans, soaked overnight in water to cover and picked over
1 meaty ham bone
4 cup water, to cook
2 onion\cooked, finely chopped
3 clove garlic, minced
3 stalk celery, finely chopped
1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped

This Recipe is considered:
Low Fat
Low Cholesterol
Low Sodium

Cooking Directions:
Drain beans and combine with ham bone and water in a large soup kettle over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer 2 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients, except parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer about 1 hour until beans are tender. Remove ham bone from soup and discard. Serve sprinkled with parsley.

Per Serving: calories 212, fat 1.3g, calories from fat 6%, protein 13.4g, cholesterol 0.0mg, dietary fiber 14.8g
