Need Ideas for Skewers
I am going to be having a few friends over for Halloween night. I am planning on setting up the fire pit in the driveway with chairs so we can sit outside and hand out candy to the kids. Well, I have plenty of both wood and metal skewers and I realized that instead of having real food, skewering and cooking the food might be better suited to our situation. I have thought of half hotdogs and marshmallows, but I can't think of anything else that would work on a skewer that cooks relatively easy. One of the people coming is a Vegan, and she is kind of picky.
Anyone have any suggestions on what kinds of foods can be skewered and cooked easily?

You can skewer anything, you can do pork chunks alternated with apple chunks sprinkled with cin/sugar/nutme (which are soooo yummy.
Cherry Tomatoes, marinated beef chunks, mushrooms, onion chunks
Antipasto Kabobs
1 9 ounce package refrigerated cheese filled tortellini
114 ounce can quartered artichoke hearts, drained
1 6 ounce can pitted ripe olives, drained
8 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
1 8 ounce bottle reduced fat Parmesan Italian dressing
Cook tortellini according to package directions, omitting salt. Drain and cool. Thread tortellini and next 3 ingredients on 25 wooden skewers. Place in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch dish; drizzle with dressing, turning to coat. Cover and chill at least 4 hours. Drain before serving.

Spicy Chipotle Chicken Spears
# 1 teaspoon onion powder
# 1 teaspoon garlic salt
# 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
# 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
# 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
# 1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
# 4 chicken breast halves, boneless and skinless, cut into 1 inch thick strips
# 12 slices bacon
# 2 cups chipotle barbeque sauce
Preheat gas grill to medium high heat. Prepare spice mix by combining onion powder, garlic salt, ground red pepper, basil, thyme, and sage in a small bowl then set aside. Place chicken strips on cutting board and season one side with half of spice mixture. Turn chicken over and season other side. Wrap 1 slice bacon around each chicken spear. Carefully weave each seasoned chicken spear onto a water soaked wooden skewer. Leaving exposed end of skewer away from heat, place each chicken spears onto prepared grill. Grill for 12 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. During last 5 minutes of grilling, generously coat each chicken spear with barbecue sauce. Remove from heat and serve immediately with extra barbecue sauce on the side.

Oh, Don't forget to Make Spiders!
Skewer your hot dog onto your stick, then quarter them lengthwise. As you cook them, the "legs" will curl and create spiders. These are yummy Halloween Treats.

How about Fish on a stick??
Piece of fish (trout, etc.)
Onions, Squash, Peppers, etc if desired
Skewer, Grilling fork or green hardwood stick
Thread fork through the fish. Cook over hot coals. Cook both sides until fish flakes at the thickest part.
Have extra pieces of fish ready in case some fall into the fire
