Priceless

Posted 08-27-2008 at 12:14 PM by wilbe95
The first part of this week I was really motivated to save money!! I made my own laundry soap, my own fabric softener, my own dish soap, hand soap and glass cleaner. I have a calendar that I keep information on to know who is doing what when and where each day, so on this calendar I have added the date (circled at the bottom) that I made all of these items and have broken down the cost I want to see how long the items will last and of course to know exactly how much I am saving! Not to mention that the husband thinks I am crazy and that their is no way to make your own of these items and to save money at the same time. Well I showed him-I washed the bathroom towels. No nothing sneaky about doing that now is there??????????? Of course there is, I have bought the Tide/Cheer laundry soap and the Downy fabric softener before. The towels always seem a little rough no matter what I have tried, I mean we are talking that I was wanting to trash the things and get new ones, but the fact that I have only had these towels for five years that was not going to be happening anytime too soon if you know what I mean. Well anyhow, I washed the towels put them away and the hubby had no clue until this morning when he took his shower, grabbed a towel and asked me what I did. He could not get over how soft those towels are! So for the small amount of work to prepare all of the items I am just thrilled that I am saving money, my clothes feel great, PRICELESS!

You Go Gwrrrrrl!

Wow, Now that is the test! When you can put the towels away and your spouse grabs one and asks what the heck you did to make them so soft and smell great!! You Rock!

It's an amazing feeling isn't it. I tease my hubby sometimes about how lucky he is to have a domestic goddess under his roof. .

Lately I've been lazy because I've gotten so many free samples of laundry softener , so I've been using those instead of vinegar or dryer sheets. (I just put a tiny dab on a wet washcloth and toss it into the dryer). It works really well and is free, which works well for me.

On your hubby not believing you could save $$ , beat him with a stick (just kidding!), I remember my husband making comments like that, At First! Now, not only does he believe me, he's the first one heading out the door for Sunday coupons,

Congrats on your success girlfriend, you are kicking Rumpus!
