It's back

Just when you think things are going smooth, then *SMASH* you are right back flat on your back again.
Took the littlest one for a check up with the Ear, Nose, Throat Doc. Things have been going well, so I thought. Over the past couple of weeks he has been stuffy but we all have been. When the weather drops from 60 one day to 30 the next with rain and wind you expect to be stuffy. What I didn't expect was the doctor to say it's back he needs surgery again.
The nasal polyp has regrown. It is back to the same size that it was when we had the last surgery which was only about ten months ago. the doctor said he noticed some inflammation in July but today could see the polyp and that it had grown quite a bit in the past three months.
My little guy looked at the doctor, and said my birthday
is in two days, do I have to have surgery on my birthday again or can I wait a few days
. the doctor said that it would be up to Mom to decide when surgery would be I reassured him that it would not be on his birthday, nor Christmas that we would find a time in between to do it.
So I am sad today, I feel helpless because I can't seem to do anything to make this go away for him.

You're in my thoughts and prayers! I hope they find out a permanent solution to these polyps growing.

Oh! I am so sorry to hear this, I was hoping the poor guy was finally past all this. I wish I could offer some advice, but I just don't have anything in my arsenal of home remedies for this. My thoughts are with you both and I'm sending big hugs and happy birthday wishes for his birthday tomorrow.
Hugs, Liss |

Surgery is scheduled. Doing it early on November 4. The doctor said the only way he could do it and know it is gone 100% would be to go in through the roof of his mouth and into his cheek, but with his age it would damage his adult teeth and that would cause other major expenses later on. So for now we will just do the same surgery and hopefully figure out a cause behind this.
I was going to work on redoing the floors in the bathroom and kitchen but think now I will be pulling up the carpet in his bedroom and putting in the wood flooring in there. Who knows what all is in that carpet. I did talk with his speech teacher and she will take it easy on him for the next couple of weeks. He is trying but so hard to pronounce things correct when you have to keep your mouth open to breath |
