House full of kids

Party time is over!!What an experience for two hours the house was full of 7 and 8 year olds! 7 girls and 6 boys then the birthday boy plus the 10 and 13 year old DH and myself. 18 people!!!!!!
The kids were so full of energy and excited to be at the party. It wasn't so much about the birthday as it was a chance to have some old fashioned Halloween party fun!
We played so many fun games. Had the kids do an apple pass game. This was so funny. Had to divide the groups into boys and girls, we tried mixed groups but the giggling! The boys did a great job, typical males they had a task to do and did it. the girls giggled the whole time so it did take them a little longer.
Then we did make a mummy out of toilet paper. Used the 10 and 13 year old as the mummy to be and handed out two rolls of tp to each group. Of course again it was the girls against the boys. The boys went through 3 rolls of tp and barely covered the 13 year old. Turned into a totally different game for them. The girls used one and a half rolls and had the 10 year old covered from head to toe!! Girls are so efficient

Did a pinata. Noone was hurt and everyone walked away with a cup of candy and toys. Of course we checked the cups and made sure that everyone had a handful of candy in theirs.
The some freeze with the halloween music, sounds playing. Then lets do cake and gifts. The only time that the kids got very very quiet was when I told them to all sit down so we could cut the cake. Warned them to sit carefully and make sure that they did not spill anything or I would cast an evil wicked spell on them. Oh my word!!! The panic, only for a few seconds, that hit their little faces. They just looked at me, I smiled, then they all went back to their jolly energetic little selves. No spills, and no spells, LOL.
When that was all done all they wanted to do was trade off costumes. We had a Werewolf, Bat Girl with a Ninja Turtle sword. A cowgirl with an alien mask. A GI Jow Snake Eyes with Wolverine Claws. Unreal, and so much fun.
The house was totally trashed when everyone left. Only a couple of items were left, one boy forgot to take his coat home with him. Fortunately one of the girls is his next door neighbor so she took his coat home. A couple other little items from costumes got left but they can get those on Monday at school.
Had to ask, if everyone is always so full of energy at school. I got a big "YES", that poor teacher, LOL! She sure has her hands full. Of course with the wood floors in the living room we have discovered that things are louder, no padding to buffer the noise. Of course the DH and I had to admit we must be getting old as we popped open the aspirin after the party to get rid of the headache from the volume level.

Good part, it is done, it is over and talked the little guy into a movie and dinner with one friend for next year!! Oh and have to add, an hour before the party we did get two more calls of kids who wanted to come to the party and RSVP'ing.
