So where is my son? HAHAHAHA

Okay so as I posted in my previous blog about my 13 year old and his adventures with the Civil Air Patrol. After he spent the weekend with the National Guard members and other CAP groups from the area, they brought me home a different young man.
No complaint though, this young man is being responsible, thinking, getting organized, sharing
.
He has gone off with Scouts for weekend camping trips and even week long camps but has never came home like this. He comes home from scouts like he had been beaten down with a stick repeatedly. He came home last night energized, confident with his head held high, smiling. Gave me a hug and a kiss in front of the other members and his Captain!!!!
Guess that over the weekend some of the Guard members thought that he was sixteen which of course is a major self esteem booster to any young person. He thought it was "awesome" (his word) that "regulars" (people not in the military) had to listen and do what he told them to do. He worked a security check point for awhile and even made a man have to take a small pocket knife back to his vehicle before he could enter the air show.
This is so opposite of the boy that I sent. The boy I sent can't even remember to change his underwear, brush his teeth or wash his hair if I didn't threaten him first. This morning he got up was dressed, ate breakfast, cleaned himself up then went in and made his bed and cleaned up his bedroom-this is major, that only happens when I threaten to make him pay me for it being a mess. Sure hope it will last!!!
This young man that came home takes life seriously. Have to admit I can hardly wait for the next CAP meeting let alone the next outing and you had better believe that he will be able to go without a second thought.

Glad you landed in a good program! Always great to find one that actually uplifts and helps our young people! Each child is different so you never know which program will help them!
