What I Miss About South Carolina

As I said last night, I thought I'd mention a few things about South Carolina that I miss. First of all - the food! Don't get me wrong. I live right outside of Philly now, so good food is not hard to find. Italian, Amish, German, Cheesesteaks, Pretzels, etc. But I miss my "comfort foods."
1.) Barbeque - In SC, BBQ is not something that you do to hamburgers and hotdogs, its a separate food group! Vinegar based, mustard based, with redeye gravy, coleslaw, pickled okra, sweet potatoes... Its all good!!! My mouth is watering as I type this!
2.) Chicken Bog - this is a chicken and rice dish that is found in the PeeDee area of SC (where I'm from). There's not way to really describe it. Its rice. Its chicken. Its sausage. Its spices. ITS HEAVEN!!!! This is what I miss the most! Mouth is watering again. I have to leave the computer now - before I start to cry!

This year was my first time visiting South Carolina..Myrtle beach actually...I loved the view and the FOOD!!! the peole were pretty nice.....
