Missy and the Big Blue Chair

Posted 11-07-2008 at 03:29 PM by rtebalt
OK, since I wrote a blog about my dog Brandon, my other dog Missy decided to do something "blog-worthy" so that she could also be immortalized on Budget101!
Wednesday night my hubbie came home from a business trip. The dogs always get so excited when their "dad" comes home. Around 11pm, hubbie & I decided it was time for bed, so we went in the bedroom to get ready. Now, normally, the doggies have a couple of little doggie beds that they sleep on on the bedroom floor. But I had decided to put them in the laundry room to wash them. I had not gotten around to washing them that day, so the doggies were going to have to sleep on the floor for the night. Apparently though, that wasn't good enough for Missy! Now, let me emphasize, that the doggies are not allowed on the furniture.
OK, so back to my story. We went into the bedroom & I told the doggies it was time for bed. Missy immediately jumped right into the big blue chair that sits in our bedroom, turned around and looked at me as if to say, "OK, I'm sleeping here tonight." I should have fussed at her and said, "Bad dog! Get down!" Unfortuately, I was laughing so hard the words wouldn't come out!
So then I make her get down & Tom & I are talking & laughing about it. We start getting ready for bed again & she hops back in the chair & the whole thing starts all over again! By this time I'm laughing so hard I'm sure my hubbie thought I was drunk or something! We make her get down AGAIN & we continue to get ready for bed again and a THIRD time she jumps in the chair! (Now, you have to understand that this is highly unusual for Missy. She is normally very obedient.) It was like she was telling me, "Listen, you may have taken away my bed tonight, but I'm not sleeping on the floor!" I finally had to go & get their beds & let them use them one more night. But I sure did get quite a hearty laugh out of the whole situation!

Laughter what a great medicine. Doesn't happen often that a person gets to laugh so much or often especially in such a short amount of time.

Brandon just sat there watching in disbelief! THen he looked longingly at the chair like, "I want to do that too, but I'm too scared." I love my doggies!
