Mortified and Need Help

Posted 11-21-2008 at 12:49 PM by MorningG
OK,
I'm so humiliated. My checking account was closed because a check bounced. Yes, it's not the first time this happened, but it's the first time in several months.
If I don't have an account somewhere then they will take $$ out of my paycheck to mail it to me.
Does anyone know what I can do now?

The bank inside walmart will usually give anyone an account. You can open one there and start your direct deposit with them.

I have had this happen to, you are not alone. Go to another bank as soon as possible and open a new account.
Hugs to you! Nothing to be embarassed about.

First, don't be embarrassed, it happens to everyone at 1 time or another. Second, don't waste your time going to another BANK because banks are owned by big money corps. Instead, go to a Credit Union, which is Owned by it's Members and less likely to close or go under in bad financial times (like now, lol). Also, they use a different system from banks to check your "banking history" so to speak and will give you an account when a bank might decline you due to your history. Hugs darlin, sorry you're having such a hard time right now.

FreebieQueen is right, it does happen to everyone some time or another. The Credit Union is good, I'm getting ready to open an account with them next week. I was checking into this in the past week. I'm not real happy with my bank. Haven't been for awhile now. So hang there girl, it will all work out for you. We have all had banking problems.

And about your paycheck - do you have an online website you can go to for your job to check paystub info and change the routing number of your bank (this is once you get a new account)? And if not, try calling Human Resources of your job or an Accounts Payable type department and they should be able to input your new bank info faster so that it doesn't take a fee out.

And dont get too upset, I've been given fees before for things bouncing but my bank has a program where it automatically deducts money from my savings, which sucks because im fined and they take money from my savings.
