My haunting Halloween is falling apart!

I always seem to take on tasks bigger than I can handle. I'm trying to coompletely cover the front walkway with black. I've used table cloths that I got from the dollar tree, black garbage bags, and a HUGE pice of visquine (I have NO Idea how to spell that). Our front walkway up to the house is about 8 ft wide from the gutters to the neighbors fence. Should be easy right? This is me we are talking about. I can make a mess of EVERYTHING!!! I used clotheline pins to hang it with. It lasted about 15 minutes and then it all came down!!! Now I've got to wait for hubby to get home to help me.... I wanted to have it all done when he got home.

Sorry that I didn't see this sooner, We always use a staple gun, duct tape, or if you have black yarn you can poke small holes in the corner of the fabric and actually tie it down. It depends on whether you have to worry about wind at all.
BTW, you can spray paint duct tape black if you bought the silver/gray stuff. |

We got the tarp up. Finally!!! tape and aligator clips did the trick. My black lights burnt out as soon as I put them in. My dry ice disinegrated...... It really was dissapointing. The front of the house still looked great but It didn't have the feel I wanted. Kids had a great time trick or treating and we had a ton of visitors to our door. Actually ran out of candy. btw if yo ever want to make a jar of Brains use cabbage leaves in colored water. It looked so cool. I also used a sharpie (red & black) on ping pong balls to make a jar filled with eyeballs....
